DMCA & Abuse

Last updated: May 9, 2026

Draft for review. This page describes how Heeo handles copyright (DMCA) takedown requests and other abuse reports for sites hosted on heeo.io and its subdomains. It will be reviewed by counsel before any large-scale launch.

1. What this page is for

Heeo lets people build sites in minutes. Some of those sites are hosted on subdomains we provide (for example, example.heeo.io). If you believe content on one of those sites infringes your copyright, violates someone else's rights, or constitutes abuse, this page is how you tell us.

2. Where to send reports

Email support@heeo.io with the subject line that matches your report:

  • DMCA NOTICE — copyright infringement (US DMCA process, below).
  • ABUSE — fraud, harassment, illegal content, or platform misuse.
  • TRADEMARK — trademark or brand impersonation claims.
  • EU DSA NOTICE — illegal content reports under the EU Digital Services Act.

We aim to acknowledge reports within 48 hours. Acknowledgement is not action — see the response process below.

3. DMCA takedown process

To submit a valid DMCA notice under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c), include all of the following:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  3. The exact URL on heeo.io (or a subdomain) where the infringing material appears, in enough detail that we can find it.
  4. Your contact information: name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the owner.

Send the complete notice to support@heeo.io with the subject “DMCA NOTICE.”

4. Counter-notice

If your content was removed in response to a DMCA notice and you believe the notice was mistaken or you have a legal basis to keep the content up, you may submit a counter-notice. Send the same email subject “DMCA COUNTER” including:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the material that was removed.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, address, and telephone number, plus consent to jurisdiction in the U.S. district court where you live (or, if outside the U.S., where Heeo Inc. is incorporated, Delaware).

5. How we respond

  • Acknowledgement: within 48 hours of a complete report.
  • Initial action: for valid DMCA notices and clear illegal-content reports, we typically remove or disable access to the reported material within 5 business days.
  • Notification to the site owner: the customer who built the site is told that a takedown happened, why, and how to respond.
  • Repeat infringers: we maintain a policy of terminating accounts of repeat infringers, as required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(i).

6. Bad-faith notices

Submitting a knowingly false DMCA notice can expose you to liability for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees, under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f). We treat repeated bad-faith notices as themselves a form of abuse.

7. EU DSA notices (illegal content)

For users in the EU, the Digital Services Act provides a separate notice mechanism for illegal content. Use the subject “EU DSA NOTICE” and describe the URL, the type of illegality, and any supporting context. We will assess and act according to our DSA obligations.

8. Designated agent

Heeo Inc.'s designated DMCA agent registration with the U.S. Copyright Office is in progress. Until that registration is complete, valid DMCA notices submitted to support@heeo.io will be processed manually by the founder. This page will be updated with the registered agent details once filing is complete.
